WHAT ABOUT PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY?
Aspen White Smile’s process is essentially self-administered. It is not a dental procedure. Because it is self-administered, there is less inherent liability than with other spa or salon procedures such as hair tainting, facials or body waxing. Your operators will be trained to instruct your customers how to administer the treatment. It is the customer that applies the product, not the operator.

WHAT CAUSES TOOTH DISCOLORATION?
There are many reasons for discolored teeth. Aging as well as consumption of coffee, tea, cola, red wine, curries, and tobacco products, etc. can lead to the staining of teeth. The ingestion of tetracycline and excessive fluoride can cause such severe staining that extended treatment lengths and perhaps more aggressive means may be required.

WHY SHOULD PEOPLE WANT A WHITER SMILE?
In addition to the obvious aesthetic reasons, studies have shown there is a correlation between high self-esteem and a white, confident smile.

IS WHITENING SAFE?
Tooth whitening is the number one customer-requested cosmetic procedure in dentistry today. Since its introduction, millions of people have undergone some form of tooth bleaching. There have been numerous studies over the years showing that carbamide peroxide based tooth whitening systems are both safe and effective. If today’s tooth whitening systems were proven unsafe, the multi-billion dollar industry would not exist.

HOW LONG WILL THE RESULTS LAST?
Individual results will vary depending on the customer’s habits and their unique dental make-up. It is safe to say that the initial results will last for up to one year. Over time, and for the same reasons that caused the teeth to darken in the first place, the customer will notice their teeth darkening again. When this happens your customer can simply repeat the same procedure and their teeth will be restored back to their brilliant white color.

Customers who use tobacco products, drink dark acidic liquids such as red wine, colas, coffee, etc. will need to touch up their teeth more often than customers who do not.

ARE THERE ANY ADVERSE SIDE EFFECTS?
There are relatively few side effects from tooth whitening. A very small percentage of customers may experience some sensitivity during a whitening procedure. This discomfort, which usually goes away within 24 hours, is minimized with our technology because we use a lower concentration of peroxide thereby reducing exposure.

WILL FILLINGS AND CROWNS BE EFFECTED BY THE WHITENING?
While carbamide peroxide will have no adverse effects on the integrity of fillings and crowns, the simple fact is that materials will not whiten in any type of bleaching procedure.

IS WHITENING FOR EVERYONE?
Pregnant and nursing mothers, children under the age of 14, and diabetics should consult their physician prior to undergoing any whitening procedure. Consumers with severely tetracycline stained teeth may opt for a more aggressive cosmetic procedure like bonding and veneers.
